Things are a little different in Nova Scotia. It’s not unusual for young people to buy a wood lot and clear it by hand. They cut the trees to clear a spot for a home. They can then sell the wood or cut it up for fuel. It takes a lot of effort, mostly done in their spare time but in the end they have an affordable place to live. They usually clear space for a vegetable garden as well. Maybe everyone should have to start out that way so they appreciate what they have when their done.
