Most of the field stone buildings in Northwestern New Jersey were built by members of the Moravian religious sect in the 18th and 19th century. This one is in the center of Blairstown. I have painted it a couple of times. It was getting tedious painting all those bricks when it occurred to me how tedious it must have been for the Moravian stone masons cutting and fitting those arches when they were built.
